Things to do in the surrounding area

You can explore the surrounding nature on foot or by bike right from your doorstep. We are located on a small mountain so the terrain is not always flat. Be ready to do some climbing. You can either go for a short little walk after dinner or for a longer hike. There are many possibilities.

For something more relaxing, the fountain and the stream at the bottom of the pasture offer a wonderful background sound for yoga or meditation. You can also take care of the garden if that's an activity you enjoy.

We would also be delighted to help you learn about plant-based cooking if you are interested.

If you take the car to go down our little mountain, you will find some nice ponds in the village of La Chapelle Devant Bruyères. The drive will take you 5 minutes. There are trails which will take you around this 15-hectare site. You might see some beaver lodges. And it's always so nice to have a picnic right by the water. Night markets are held there every friday in July and August.

By driving for about 10 or 15 minutes, you will be able to explore an area of the Vosges which is still a bit secret. It's perfect when you want to be in nature while avoiding the crowds. There are hundreds of kilometers of trails to explore and many sites to discover within a fairly close perimeter.
